Emma acknowledged everyone who entered. With a nod or a smile, a gesture of hand or in Freeze-Frame's case a folding of arms. She accepted papers and fruit as was offered, though she knew Kelly Burns all too well and was cautious when placing the apple on her desk. The slightest bit of tilt forward and the curve of her breast would drive him to levels of unruliness the likes of which she hadn't the will to deal with.
She was in a good mood, it was the last class of the week and the weekends at the school were always lovely in the spring. The children seemed to be more than excited to greet them and mornings were silly fun that climbed to heights of adventure by mid afternoon and melted away to happiness by lights out. Never more than a slight care as the change of the season brought out the best in everyone and now that Brock was feeling better and willing to relent if ever so slightly this was promising to be a fantastic weekend. She would not spoil it with homework, she made up her mind then and there.
Walking to the door, as a glance at the wall showed the hour on the clock hands was spot on, she slowly and deliberately shut it solidly. The sound she knew would reverberate down the halls and all who were not there yet would know they had sealed their own fate. A dry wisp of a smile crossed her lips at the thought of someone to re-organize the store room and finish the preparations for the stables. Veronika's father having offered to provide horses, oh how Emma herself loved to ride and she knew that he knew that, she accepted the offer without a moment's hesitation. Knowing full well it would not come without a cost, but being pragmatic, she was loathe to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Composing herself she turned back to the class and watched them as they took their last moments to joke and tease one another. Emma was in the mood for a bit of fun, and the spirit it seemed was pervasive as the children continued to socialize. She would give them time to settle down, besides a reunion was what this was and she was delighted to be witness to it. English class could wait a minute or two more.

As Emma shut the door Inflict turned and looked behind them at the girl who he had thought so little of so many times in the past. She had certainly grown and the stems that carried her into their midsts had a shape to them that rivaled his own piece's legs. She was right in saying how hot he and Machete were, but her flattery would ingratiate her little in Norrison's world. He didn't care what some half breed brine sucker thought of him anyway. Doubling his low opinion of her with the fact that she had been one of Storm's little angels and he still hated the blue skinned bitch.
Norrison and Storm had had many issues with one another and he had danced for joy when she left. Ororo was such a goody-goody that the smell of her made him sick. Laying his eyes on Splice made him remember all the crap her team leader of old had put him through, and right now he wanted to gut punch the Atlantean just for GP. "Why Jocelyn, so wonderful of you to show yourself. I think if I'm not mistaken that the pool needs cleaning. Make yourself useful Half-Breed and while you're at it soak your head."
He had been having a good day at least it wasn't completely crap. Although he had to get up before noon, and he so hated morning classes, he did happen to bump into an underclassman of distinction. He had thought he might adopt a gopher some time ago, and the one kid called Jumper had seemed the type. Problem with him was he wasn't willing to get his hands dirty. He left out of the school claiming to be sick, but Inflict knew it was all his own doing...the punk just couldn't take it. His room mate however was a different story.
Chase was a strange bird, but he'd make a useful tool if Norrison could just work his way into the kid's head. Get him used to the control, train him for the abuse. It was working out fine in fact too, and since it was a good enough excuse, walking in front of them and not holding the door open for the Hellions, Inflict stuffed him on his head in a locker. Simple, cut and dried. The control was showing though as Chase cut off his own words, censoring himself as he spoke to the older students, learning his place with them. He would reward him later with some alcohol and cigarettes, and the bi-bondage and kinky watersport porn that the kid had asked him for discreetly. He enjoyed the little game, it was a fun hobby for a rich man's son.

Machete did nothing more than roll her eyes and sigh dramatically when the back again came the annoying blue dyke back to her world. "Why couldn't you have gotten eaten by a shark?" she growled out, sparing a glance or two at her. She could admit that Splice grew up, no more knobby and stick legs like she used to have, but her voice was the same annoying happiness and she still spoke to them as if they gave a damn about her. No matter what they said, she never went away. One time even having the nerve to combine with Inflict when he really tried to make her leave them alone.
Not looking like snot nosed brat didn't make her any less annoying. Machete flipped her hair over her shoulder and turned her head. She thought she was rid of Storm's brat squad for good, and here comes the most annoying one of all. The older female Hellion hated that 'Weather Bitch' more than anyone on her team. That stuck up stick up the ass bitch tried to put herself higher than Emma Frost, thinking that Emma wasn't good enough to be at their precious little school and her Hellions were nothing more than Hooligans. Machete had more class and good breeding in her thumbnail than that whore of a street urchin had in her entire being. She was glad that some man took enough pity on her and mercy on the school to marry her and get her out of there. Who cares if he's the King of some third world country where the people run around in loin clothes? As far as Machete was concerned the further Storm was from them, the happier she would stay.
Machete exchanged a glance with Inflict, clearly showing how unhappy she was with the new arrival. She took out her lipstick and crossed her legs, putting on a fresh coat to give her lips a plum berry kind of look. "You wanna back away now little girl? Your skin is blinding my area of vision," she drawled out not even glancing at the freak of nature several seats over.

After Lian flicked Sky's ear from her healing gut wound, she shook her head at Kat. "C'mon Kat, Heather ain't that bad," she replied. Lian and Heather were good friends when they first arrived to the Xavier Mansion. However once Sky and Veronika came, they went their separate ways and just did what they wanted. They were still cool and all, and Lian definitely understood that people don't always have the same relationships they use to. That was high school for ya, and just life as well.
Lian sat back in her seat and sighed. Class was going to be a pain in the ass, especially when the weekend was right after it. She and Sky were going to have a blast. Sneaking out with Chase and Riker to have a bon fire. Heck even Glitch could have come if he wanted. God damn Chase, she thought with a roll of her eyes and a smirk. She got him good at the lake. F@!&in' deserved it too. She then looked around the classroom, seeing the students come in. The Hellions of course walked with their "swagger" and enjoyed their presence being known. Lian's smirk widened since she thought of herself as one. They were known to be risk takers more than the Corsairs and Lian was definitely that. She and Sky would have a blast on that team. Of course since they were two years apart Lian would have so much fun teasing Sky as the newbie if and when she finally joined.
The blue girl was definitely a shock. Seeing her come out of nowhere and know everyone made Lian raise an eyebrow. She leaned over to Sky and said "Aww I wish I was blue. She is hot with blue skin." Her ears and winged feet were even more interesting that it made Lian wonder what the new (but old) girl could do. The Hellion were responsive to the blue girl's entrance and surprisingly the sociopath was the only "nice" one. F&@!in' school is just so weird, she reminded herself.

Kelly was all but bouncing in his seat now that Jocelyn was back. Not only was she back, she looked HOT. She used to look like nothing more than a cute kid that followed Tracy around and got in the way of him on his Boob watch. Now she was totally part of the show. "Oh man Joce you look HOT! Man what is in the water over in Atlantis? I always wanted to go there, are there other Blue babes there? Do they where those little shell bras that only cover their nipples? CAN I COME???!!!" He was getting rather excited and practically bouncing all over his seat at the prospect.
He absolutely adored Jocelyn, even though she was way younger than him. They always compared notes on chicks together and would have a blast when hyper. Kelly proudly was the one who got her to smoke a bowl for the first time and also the one to give her first drink ever. "We have to do something this weekend man, we could-" A loud gasp left Kelly and he turned right to look at Shade. "Shade... SHHAAaadeee.... Shade man, I have a BRILLIANT plan for this weekend. No seriously, you, me, that carnival that opened in town, the ferris wheel, and a canoe. I thought of it last night while I was smokei- uhhh" He glanced at Emma Frost sheepishly. "Uhh smoking pork for a late night snack. Heh, yea. But listen, its BRILLIANT! And you can be happy cause we get to scare people. We gotta make plans!" Kelly was all over the place as usual and now more so cause he had something to be hyper about.

Alex lied in bed. He had heard the voice of his roommate trying to awaken him earlier. He had responded by requesting for five more minutes. Alex stretched and opened his eyes only to see that Jaspis had already left to English. Alex had his paper ready to hand in that morning. He looked over to the clock and realized that he only had about five minutes to get to class. He jumped in the shower for a quick once over and he threw on what ever clothes were lying around.
He ran out the door only to realize that he left the paper in the room. "Damn, why today, why me?!" He ran back and picked it off the desk. He ran down the corridors as fast as his legs could take him
He was nearly there, seconds ticking off the clock, when he heard the most dreadful sound imaginable. Ms.Frost had shut the door as Alex was nearly around the corner. He turned the corner to face his fears. Alex stood there with his hands on his hips. So close. I can't believe I did all that work to fail here.
He eyed the cold and recently closed door. He was ashamed that he had overslept. Alex was never late. He lightly banged his cast on the wall as his shame consumed him. Once again his emotions got the better of him as he could feel the shaking of his body. The pain of transforming took over as he took the form of a bird of prey.
He began to rant in his mind in Spanish. Damn not again. I really have to get a hold of myself and try to control myself. he continued to rant and feel ashamed. The cast slipped off his wing as Alex tried to escape his human clothes. When he was done he picked up his clothes in his talons and begun to try and get all his stuff back to his room.

Looking up at Aideen as she entered and sat down beside him, a soft smile came on Mato's face. She looked so renewed and refreshed, the troubled aura that surrounded her seemed to have disscipitated and a glow of happiness surrounded her instead. He spied a glance at the Cougar that laid at her feet and privately smiled at the sight of the Cougar licking its paws in such a satisfied and seductive manner that it left little doubt in Mato's mind as to what his friend had really been up to recently. He couldn't be happier for her, and he suspected that he was not the only one who felt this way. "Good morning Aideen, you look extremely refreshed this morning," he said with a smile not giving away what he may or may not know.
Mato leaned closer to speak in a lower voice to her. "We have a new arrival, or rather an old one who returned. She appears to know our team quite well," he said spying her interacting with Kelly and all the other older students, Hellions included. The blue girl called Jocelyn was rather fascinating for Mato to witness. He had never seen anyone like her before, though from the books he read and what he knew from Forge, he suspected she was an Atlantean. The wings on her feet and the blue skin were a large clue to her origin. He could not help the smile that slid on his face as he watched the bottle nose dolphin swim around her happily. The Patron of Sailors who understands the power of rhythm in life and represents balance and freedom. A very admirable animal indeed. Swims through even the most dangerous waters without fear. Mato watched closely the interaction of the dolphin with the Hellion's Spirits, an odd thread weaved right before him and he found it difficult to tear his eyes away.
What made him shift his attention was the manner in which Rumble's black hammerhead shark swam, looking right at Aideen's cougar. It moved elusively, stalking its prey and waiting for the right moment to strike. Mato found himself grateful that Aideen was leaving for the weekend. He knew she was more than capable of handling herself, but she did not deserve to deal with Rumble striking back. He set his assignments on the desk as well, and only watched with his ever observant gray eyes the ongoings of the class.

The new girl was indeed very interesting. Her blue skin did look very strange and the way she spoke to the older students made Ana believe she was one of the older students herself, although having never seen her before it was strange to think of her as one. Still, she was focused and ready for class, everything laid out on her desk neatly as her stomach continued to churn from the horrific event everyone seemed to call breakfast.
Even after months that sickly feeling never died down.
'Why can't this class just start already.' She thought in a state of annoyance. The interruption from chase as well had really made her a little bored despite his obvious attempts at entertainment. The guy was far too outgoing for his own good and if he didn't watch out around the Hellions he would find himself with more black eyes than hickeys. 'Not like he tries to hide them at all anyway.' She thought, rolling her eyes in the direction of the boisterous Paragon.

All the comoshun in the rom was fun, and Kevin sat grinning. The blue color was a lovely shade for a person and his eyes were fixed on her. The way she moved and floated through the class so at ease with herself and with everyone else was seductuve. Not in a way that he wanted to be with her, more in a way that he wanted to be like her. He admired people who were comfertable with themselfs and she sureley was that in spades.
When Chase came in and made fun of her he didn't really get the joke, but it was ok because Chase was out there himself. He was a fun and funny guy, but his jokes could be a bit mean, and he seemed comfiruble with himself but there was something just a bit off about him, like he was hiding something. Kevin thought he might have noticed something familiar about him, but lately he had other things on his mind and was far more focused on them.
He had smiled at Ivy and was about to start talking with her, since he was one of the few team members he knew of that had stopped in a couple of times. Usually after a workout, so admitintly he was in a rush to go and shower and change. And maybe it was only once that he stopped to chat with her, but he usually waved and hollered in to say hi as she was in the medlab. He didn't want to disturb her really, she did look quiet out of it.
That was when Ember came in and then Emma shut the door. He waved at Aideen as she took her seat. They weren't friends but they were friendly and he respected her for her being who she was, a person of refinement and of privacy and the girl who saved his ass again and again in LIMBO. He knew she was awesome, and she knew it too but never flaunted it so that made her even cooler in his eyes.
He couldn't help it though, his eyes wandered back to the girl with wings on her feet and blue skin. "Um, Miss Frost?" he said raising his hand. "You always tell us who is new and what powers people have and all when you introduce them, so, well" he pointed down front to the second row. "who is that?"

"Well Kevin, if you must know she is" the tapping at the door drew her attention "excuse me." Emma held up a finger as she stepped back to the door and opened it. There on the floor of the hallway stood a bird. "Oh Alex," she said "this is no excuse for being late to class. Take a minute and pull yourself together, I'll leave the door ajar for you."
Glancing down the hall she saw a figure approaching. "And you may want to make it quick, someone else will be along shortly. It wont do at all for you to be floundering in a half transformed state when they arrive." She turned her head at him showing a slight frown. Such a shame Kitty hasn't been much help to him, I will need to have a word with her about that. With that thought she shut the door enough to leave it open a slight crack.
"OK where was I? Ah yes Kevin I was going to save introductions as your Acolyte team mate SPLICE is not the only one expected, but since you insist...." she took a position in front of her desk leaning herself back to rest against it as she spoke to them all. "Some of you may remember Jocelyn Roma, for those of you who don't she is only just returned from her home under the sea. Splice is her codename and she is half Atlantean and an Acolyte. Her mutant power grants her the ability to merge with another person, quite a benefit to both parties as it is only while in contact with water that her Atlantean attributes are accessible and the human body is made up mostly of water."
"Welcome back Jocelyn to your 'other' home. We have been curious as to your wellbeing but with respect, of course, to your request to 'go it alone' we didn't bother you." Emma smiled at her. ~I am so very proud of you, Colossus will be so happy to see you back!~ "Since we find ourselves now into the class period let's all settle down."
"Last week I gave you all the assignment for creative writing in your journals. I would like to hear you read aloud what you have written." She reached down onto her desk and retrieved a notebook and a pen. "I hear those thoughts... now listen if you cannot read aloud what you have written then maybe it was not worth writing and that would be a waste of your time and mine. The topic was 'encroaching nature' as you all should recall remember poems, with or without rhyme as well as haiku's, paragraphs with great descriptors....who would like to go first? CLUTCH!?! Since you seem so eager for class to begin?...or would someone else like to go first?" She folded her arms across her chest softly, a gentle tilt to her head as she played with the pen in between her fingers.

Chase stood up and with great pomp and circumstance he cleared his throat. "Yes welcome back blue girl. Ms. Frost I would like to delight and inspire the class with a selection from my journal. It is a true Chaseterpiece if ever there was one." He had waited long enough for the stick skinny girl to get herself going, and since he was sure it was malnutrition that kept her from responding he tossed her the other Reece's peanut butter cup that he was saving for later. He had already licked the top of it in case Sky tried to steal it but since it was getting melty from being in his pocket he thought it would be just enough to conceal that fact. "Eat it, it'll put hair on your chest. It's okay then?" He didn't hear a 'no' so he began to read. Actually he hadn't really written anything and was bluffing the entire thing but his plan was that if he went first he wouldn't have to be that good and she would never catch him at it. When it was time to hand in his journal he was going to tear out the page and blame it on Puppy~Love, the old 'My dog ate my homework' trick just had to work. It hadn't been tried in years and was so due to be successful that he was betting heavily on it's success. Clearing his throat again he picked up his journal and flipped to a blank page. He shook the book and adjusted his stance, pushing his shoulders back and chest out. Holding the journal in one hand he used the other for emphasis to distract the unaccustomed, and catch the rest unawares. "This is called 'BLUE BIRD', just a weird coincidence huh?" he said looking at Splice and winking. Using his Jamaican accent he began to recite, to pretend to recite rather, since he made up as he went along Blue bird me see yah up dere in dah sky fly high blue bird much higher than I
Blue bird she see me far down dere below circle round den blue bird round-un-round do she go
Blue bird she fly jah and from waaay up in the sky mon she shit right square in me eye dahn'tcha know. Pretending to wipe bird shit from his eye Chase whipped his hands around and tucked the journal under his arm. Clapping for himself he said "Oh yes, that was a good one." he looked over at Sky and Lian since they both knew he didn't write a thing.

After Chase had gone and said his poem, Lurai had to tilt her head slightly at the funny way he presented it. He used some weird accent that wasn't his own, but as far as she knew it seemed to rhyme fine enough and she decided she liked it. She wasn't surprised, however, that he just decided to instead of letting Clutch go first like it seemed she wanted to do. Lurai would've gotten up and gone first herself since she figured she probably couldn't wait that long to go. She decided she would go next anyways, so when everyone finished clapping and making their comments about Chase's poem, Lurai got up to go next. She picked up her notebook and opened it to the page where she wrote her assignment. "I wrote a haiku, because it is short, it is simple and it gets my point across as well as sticks to the nature motif," she said before clearing her throat in almost the sound of a growl, and then spoke in an almost curious sounding voice, The filthy rabbit- It hasn't been cooked yet, I Keep wondering why. Lurai sat back down with a smile on her face at the thought of roasted Coffee for dinner. It really had been a while since she had rabbit for dinner, both raw and cooked. It was a nice thought to have of eating the school's pet rabbit. Why the school had the pet rabbit in the first place was still beyond her, but it still didn't change the fact that she wanted to track the rabbit down and have herself a good meal.

Ian was cracking up like nothing after Chase and Lurai's entries. Chase's was just hilarious and Lurai pretty much voiced her twin's thoughts that Ian heard nonstop as the past two months. It tickled him like nothing else that they couldn't grasp the concept of a rabbit being kept around as a pet. "Oh man that was classic right there," he said still laughing "That rabbit dude ain't in a good position" Ian laughed a little bit more and got a hold of himself, winking over at Niki and smiling when he caught Splice's eye. That girl looked awesome, and he was so awed that Niki actually had to nudge him. He's never seen an Atlantean up close and he couldn't help but be compelled to stare at the chick with the blue skin and wings on her feet. That and her power was awesome. That's some wicked power there. Team practice is gonna be a blast tonight, it should straighten a lot of stuff out with this team, but I gotta talk to Colossus dude anyways.. he had thought earlier on. Now though he figured he might as well say the little haiku that he also wrote, seeing as Emma was looking at him expectantly now that he burst out in comment. He gave her a crooked grin and opened his notebook. "Aw I might as well go since I opened my mouth huh? I know the drill Ms. Frost its cool." Ian stood up and flipped to the page. "I wrote a haiku about something really, really, sad that happened to me once," he said and took a deep breath and began to read. Sun shines, wind blows strong I love surfing on the beach I forgot my board. [/b] He closed the book and sat down, a saddened look on his face. "Man that day sucked. It was like a perfect surfing day and we all went down to the beach and I forgot to load my board into my truck. I'll never get that day back man," Ian said and folded his arms, thinking of the day wistfully and turned his attention to the next person.

The start of class was the thing that really got Gavin to tear his eyes away from Splice. Other than the fact that she had a kickass power and was half Atlantean, she was damn gorgeous. I heard of blonde bombshells, but blue bombshells are a first. And she has a kickass power, thats just... dammmnnn He shook himself out of it only to find himself in tears from Chase's poem from laughter and trying not to be too loud. Lurai's little haiku just sent him over the edge. Aw man poor Coffee. I feel bad for the little guy when the day comes that food delivery is late. Ian's haiku just made him go into a fit of short chuckles. He knew that Ian was generally a pretty deep guy, but when it came to surfing, that was it. Gavin patted his friend on the arm with a sympathetic look on his face, trying not to laugh. "Let it out man, let it out. That right there was way deep," he said seriously before laughing a bit and slapping his friend on the arm. "I'll go next," Gavin volunteered and stood up, minding his wings and grabbed the notebook. "Heather drew me a picture of a Piranha with a sombrero on so I decided to write a song. I call it Pedro the Paranoid Piranha," he said and winked at Heather before clearing his throat. He began singing in a rich baritone voice to the tune of 'Sway with Me' by Dean Martin. His voice sounded identical, mainly because Gavin trained the pitches of his voice since he was a kid. I'm Pedro the paranoid Piranha And I don't think that I'll see maniana 'Cos some of me mates Want me on their plates Washed down with a Pina Collada
I know by their glances so fleetin' That there's evil intent in their greetin' So I'm watchin' them Watchin' me watchin' them While I swallow the one that I'm eating. Only Gavin can make a completely ridiculous song sound like a classic ballad. And he even leaned down as if he was serenading Ivy and Ricki, though the lines were far from anything that could be considered romantic. He grinned when he finished and took a bow for himself. "No pictures please," Gavin said with a laugh and plopped back in his seat. He had fun whenever he had an excuse to write a song, ridiculous as it may be.

Chester was sitting silently and thinking on each person's words when it happened. He had turned to face behind and look at the younger kids as they read their poems and smiled. He loved the one about the bird poo and thought it was pretty ballsy of the red head to say 'shit' right in front of Emma. He wasn't sure how that would be received, but his first clue was when he looked back to the White Queen and saw her biting on the inside of her mouth. That was never good, he knew from experience. The little wolf girl's Haiku was cute, but he wondered why she was so bent on the rabbit fella. She herself and her brother too talked at great length about eating that guy and he was one tough little critter. Chester had spent some days sitting and looking at the clouds with him and some of the Alphas as they waited for pies and cookies to finish baking and he always acted like as much of a person as anybody. It just didn't sit well with him the way the wolf kids felt, they were wolfkids for Hank's sake, or Pete's sake for that matter. He wondered how they couldn't see how much like him they were. Aideen's roommate's guy and his surfer sob story was too tragic, and he had felt that kind of pain himself when taking Chopper fishing and making sure to have everything that his little buddy would need with them. It was amazing all that you had to pack just to go fish when you took a kid along, but the teachers insisted. So his own fishing rod was left behind but the sunscreen and sandwiches and bug spray and GPS doohickey and umbrella and extra socks and every other stupid thing that they could put on the checklist came along, that was the last time he told them they were going. After that he left notes stuck to the fridge. Fishing was the best and when the Hawk sang his song Stoney smiled big. Nature encroaching on nature, that's what it did all the time and it was how the world was supposed to be. Simple. Unrefined. Raw. That was when the sound of his own journal hitting the floor made him look down. That damn Stephen! Maybe it was Kelly... aww Emma's lookin at me with the look. Drat I didn't want to...aww hell..Chester leaned over in his seat and scooped up his book. Reluctantly he stood rubbing and scratching the back of his head to distract himself from the feeling of so many eyes on him. "Uh, OK so mine is ..." He gruffly exhaled a lungful of air with a sound of *hurmphff* and opened his notebook. Turning to face the class he started reading without any explanation -Long now gone are the days of my youth, when in the green I was, as green as I was then. I remember as now the days grow gray that the world was vibrant once and surrounded with friends and relations was I. Seasons had passed, countless moons star filled nights and dawns that dew covered me. Love in my limbs as love alighted and left me renewed, with song as lovebirds do. Now the winter of my discontent and alone I stand against the wind. The whistle has blown but come the light of morning next fall I first under man's harsh blow.- He waited a second before looking up at the class and raising an eyebrow he looked over at his team. He hated it when Emma made him do stuff that exposed his heart like this, it was just embarrassing and he knew for weeks he was going to be teased by them. Shaking his head slightly and biting his top lip he sat down.
